Privacy

plain-language data handling for puzzle help.

Daily Game Hints is in a public launch posture. The product is designed for quick daily use without an account, personalization profile, or hidden answer tracking.

Current data posture

small surface, explicit collection.

Accounts

No user accounts are required for the current puzzle-helper experience.

Analytics and ads

We count a few anonymous events per day, such as which hint row was opened, whether a shortcut was used, or whether the answer was revealed (a count only, never the answer itself). No cookies, no identifiers, no IP addresses, and never a hint, word, or answer. Browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control send nothing. There are no ads.

Hosting logs

Our hosting platform keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for operations and security. Those logs are separate from the site analytics above, which store none.

Waitlist data

Email, page path, limited browser/referrer context, and a salted one-way IP hash may be stored for spam protection.

Waitlist details

what changes if you submit an email.

If you join the waitlist, Daily Game Hints stores your email address, the page you submitted from, limited browser/referrer context, and a salted one-way hash of your network IP for spam and rate-limit protection. Raw IP addresses are not stored by the waitlist application.

For public traffic, the waitlist must use Neon-backed storage and keep the hash salt and database credentials outside source control. Any analytics, advertising, or personalization change should update this page before launch.
